Business teacher

The Bachelor of Business Management, specialisation Business Management & Enterpreneurship is organised at VIVES University of Applied Sciences, department of commercial sciences and business management, campus Kortrijk.

Kortrijk is the beating heart of Flemish entrepreneurship and design, fostering innovation and creativity. The city harbours various large multinationals like Barco and Bekaert. There is also a wide range of industry or service-oriented SMEs. This provides the region with the second lowest unemployment rate in Europe. The historic town centre offers an inspiring backdrop and the vibrant university town is strategically located in, and part of, the Belgian-French metropolis of Kortrijk, Lille and Tournai.

Insurance and enrolment

Belgium is a very safe travel destination, but you are advised to look into the insurance you will need, so you arrive well prepared. These are things you should take care of before travelling to Belgium and starting your classes here with us at VIVES. Check our page about insurance to read more about it.

When applying, check with your home coordinator whether you are coming for a semester or a whole academic year. This implies that you have a grant for that period or have sufficient means of subsistence. Leaving before the time agreed upon can only be accepted in exceptional cases such as illness or family emergencies and has no influence on the obligation of paying rent.

We stress that the housing contract is binding. Exams or tests at distance (for those exceptional cases) can be set up if necessary, as long as this has the consent of the home institution. If students decide to leave us without an official notification or justification by their international coordinator, we decline all responsibility and will not issue a Transcript of Records.

Can I study abroad during this programme?

You can study at a foreign partner university as an Erasmus+ exchange for the duration of one term in your final year. Doing an internship abroad within the Erasmus+ programme will also be encouraged.

Within the programme you will also have several opportunities to go on a student trip abroad to a country within or outside of Europe, as far as China or Colombia if you like!

Timetable

Below is an example of what your weekly schedule could look like.

Timetable

Please note: as for the languages you choose whether you want to take French and/or German and/or Spanish and/or Dutch (only for non native Dutch speakers).  It is mandatory to choose 1 language on top of English but possible to choose a second language on top as well. The alternative is an extra course. You make this choice at the beginning of the academic year.

Below is an example of what your class schedule might look like in the first semester. Because not all courses are taught throughout the academic year, you will obviously not find all course units in this sample table. When drawing up each class schedule, we try to limit the number of skips as much as possible.
