Applying for the campusses of Kortrijk or Roeselare

Kortrijk

In September 2014 VIVES University College opened a brand new student residence in Kortrijk.  This building offers housing to as many as 80 Erasmus students. In addition to the rooms for Erasmus students, there is also accommodation reserved for 25 Belgian students. It will be a vibrant student community of mixed nationalities, right in the center of town.

Price for a single room is €1550/semester, price for a double room is €2220/semester (€1110 per student). Mentioned prices are for the full term, even if you arrive after the start of the rental period or if you leave before the end of the rental period. All students who make a reservation for a room have to pay a deposit of €250 and an administration fee of €50.

The payment of deposit, administration fee and rent for a single room needs to be done in 3 instalments as followed:

  • 1st instalment of €600 (€250 deposit + €50 administration fee + €300 rent) within 2 weeks after reservation
  • 2nd instalment of €625 before October 1st
  • 3rd instalment of €625 before November 1st

The payment of deposit, administration fee and rent for a double room needs to be done also in 3 instalments as followed:

  • 1st instalment of €600(€250 deposit + €50 administration fee + €300 rent) within 2 weeks after reservation
  • 2nd instalment of €405 before October1st
  • 3rd instalment of €405 before November 1st

The housing officer will give you the bank information after you completed the online housing application. Students who stay for the whole academic year will be given 3 extra instalments for the 2nd semester

Below are the general terms and conditions for renting a room in the VIVES Residences in Kortrijk (and Roeselare). Please read them carefully before submitting the application form. The deadline to submit the application form is:

  • June 10th (first semester / whole academic year)
  • November 20th (second semester only)

After submitting the application, you will receive an email informing you whether a room will be available for you at the residence.

In the same confirmation email, you will be requested to make the 1st payment (€250 deposit + €50 administration fee + €300 rent) into the bank account specified in the link in the email, this should be done within 14 days. Please be aware that international money transfers can take several days. Therefore, we advise you to make the money transfer as soon as possible. After the confirmation e-mail, you will have to contact your study area coordinator by e-mail for the practical arrangements (date of arrival, pick-up service, etc.)

Roeselare

Please contact the Housing Officer for more information about housing in Roeselare.

Students who make a reservation for a room in Roeselare have to pay next to the deposit of €250 a mediation fee of €100. 

Applying for the campusses of Brugge or Oostende

Below are the general terms and conditions for renting a room in Brugge. Renting a room in Oostende is not possible. Students from campus Oostende receive offers in Brugge. By train it takes you 12 minutes from Brugge to Oostende or back.  Please read them carefully before submitting the application form. The deadline to submit the application form is:

  • May 31th (first semester/whole academic year)
  • November 20th (second semester) 

After submitting the application, you will receive an email informing you wether a room will be available for you at one of the studenthouses and at what cost. After you have made your choice of room or studio you will receive an email concerning the first payment. You wil be requested to transfer the deposit and mediation fee into our account, specified in an invoice added to the email. This should be done within 7 days. Please be aware that international money transfers can take several days. Therefor, we advise you to make the deposit transfer immediatly. After the confirmation email we will send you the rental contract and we will make arrangements for your arrival (date of arrival, pick-up, bike...) and next payments for rent.

Students who apply for housing can use the following services: reservation of a rental bike, free use of a mattress (most studenthouses do not have mattresses!), buying a bedlinen set (duvet, pillow, sheets, ...), ...
