Minimum system requirements of the laptop

Processor: i3, i5 or Ryzen-5
Internal memory: 8GB
Hard drive: preferably SSD-drive
Resolution: HD or higher
Display: minimum 14 inch
WiFi: b/g/n/a, preferably wireless network card supporting WiFi 5(802.11 ac) at the very least. Laptops with only b/g/n WiFi-standard are not recommended
Operating system: Windows 10 or 11

ORDERING A NEW LAPTOP?

Every student is free to buy a laptop at its place of choice. There are however two suppliers offering special discounts for students of VIVES university.

Academic Shop (Signpost)

For 3 years, Academic Shop will repair your laptop at your home a day after reporting the problem. For support, call (telephone: +32 3 327 30 74) or contact Academic Shop by e-mail.

CampusShop

CampusShop gives "free fast student service" twv 89,- on every laptop. They take care of a quick repair. If the repair is not done within 5 working days, you get a laptop on loan for the duration of your repair. This way, you can always continue your studies quickly! Do you want a loaner laptop or repair at home immediately the next working day? Then there is the Premium or Pro student service. ICT-introduction days

In September 2022 new students will receive introduction sessions on all of VIVES’ digital systems. Quickly get over to the info page of the introduction sessions to VIVES’ digital systems and to register and consult all information.

Software: Academic Software

The importance of ICT in the current and future educational landscape is only increasing. Therefore it is crucial for lecturers and students to be working with the most recent software. That is why VIVES university considers software packages as essential learning material in every course. Academic Software contains all software programs you will need during your studies at VIVES.
