Sports

Studying usually involves sitting motionlessly for hours on end on your desk chair; this endangers your healthy dose of movement. The VIVES Student Facilities Department (Stuvo) would not like to see this happen, and have a number of plans in place to enable VIVES students to partake in sports cheaply and happily.

We will give you a substantial extra discount when you buy a Sports Card, which you can use pretty much everywhere in Kortrijk. For more information and an overview of the offer click here. You can also go swimming at Lago Kortrijk Weide for only 2 € (when you purchase a card for 10 sessions and show your student card).

We also regularly organize sports activities ourselves, including the Midnight Swim and the Student Snow Event. Keep an eye on our online calendar www.stuvoloods.be and keep up to date with the offer!

In addition, you can borrow all kinds of sports equipment from the reception desk of the Student Facilities Department (Stuvo), even free of charge. From football to frisbees, from squash rackets to table tennis bats... you can take them all with you on presentation of your student card and with payment of a small deposit.

Student initiatives

Students who have a good idea and would like to put it into practice can submit it to the Student Facilities Department (Stuvo). With sponsoring, we aim to encourage fun, sporting and cultural initiatives. This can amount to half of the cost price, with a maximum of € 50.00 per person.

Your activity must meet with certain conditions: it is not curriculum related (i.e. not linked to the evaluation of students), widely accessible and does not aim to make a profit. The target group of the activity you organise is, of course, VIVES students. The service Student Facilities must be mentioned as sponsor on all publicity, and afterwards you will provide a report on how you have spent the amount of money you have been awarded.

Competitions

The VIVES sports teams are starting to assert themselves in the Flemish competition for universities and colleges of higher education. The jerseys are ready, now we just need a number of motivated players to turn our teams into real dream teams. Join a VIVES sports team and compete with students from other colleges or universities at the championships of Student Sport Flanders. We are active in the following disciplines:
