Diversity in Care: International Health Care Week 2022

The professional Bachelor in Health Care, Nursing at VIVES organises the international week ‘Diversity in Care’, that will be held from Tuesday 18 to Friday 21 October 2022 in Kortrijk (Belgium). You are welcome as a lecturer or student to participate in this international week. As a guest lecturer, you can present a healthcare and diverse topic of choice to our second year Bachelor in Nursing students. As a student you can participate in the international week, blended or physical.

For the guest lecturers

We would like to welcome you as our guest!  Your presentation should contain: 

  • A topic linked to diversity in healthcare  
  • A topic linked to at least one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) - Sustainable Development Goals | United Nations Development Programme (undp.org) 
  • An activity/lecture/workshop/case study/good practice linked to intercultural competences in the connection with healthcare given in English of 60 minutes: you present yourself, introduce your topic, explain the relevance of the topic for nursing students & Q&A.

 
Please note that you are also welcome to follow other sessions during the international week.

During the international week, visits and meetings will take place with foreign and local colleagues (depending on the COVID19-measurements).  We organize a hospital visit, visit of the simulation lab and a diner, extra opportunities to meet other guests. The staff program would start in the afternoon on Tuesday till Friday at lunch.

The teaching mobility can be financed by ERASMUS+ through your institution’s International Office.  If there is an Erasmus+ agreement between your institution and VIVES (B KORTRIJ 01), you can come with an STA or STT.  If there is no agreement you can join us with a STT.  Guest lecturers will receive a certificate stating that they have taken part in teaching activities amounting to 8 hours.
