The professional Bachelor Programmes in Applied Social Studies at VIVES are very pleased to invite you to their annual Global Engagement Week from November 13th until November 17th 2023.
Global Engagement: planting seeds for change
We are living in challenging times. In the next decade, we can expect to face challenges such as climate-change mitigation, large scale involuntary migration, societal polarisation, cyber security, geoeconomic confrontation, etc. (Global Risks Report, 2023)
As a university of applied social studies we want to provide our students with the competences to deal with these challenges and to build a better future. How can we develop resilient practices towards these global and local challenges? Which inspiring actions exist at a micro, meso or macro level and how can we implement them in our daily lives and society? Working together with partners, globally engaged for a better world.
We want to invite you to join us this week.
As a guest lecturer, you are kindly invited to present an interactive workshop or lecture on global engagement skills or a specific aspect of global engagement. About 400 second year students from the undergraduate programs in Applied Psychology, Applied Security Studies, Social Work and Social Educational Care Work will attend these sessions.
We annually have lecturers and students from different countries taking part in our Global Engagement Week. Needless to say that this event gives you the opportunity to extend your personal international network.
