Housing
Finding a suitable place to live during your studies at VIVES is important. That is why we are happy to help you with this. At VIVES we understand exactly what the modern student is looking for: a high quality, trustworthy student room where you can study, work and live in optimal conditions. In a nutshell? A place where each and every student feels instantly at home. Of course, we can give you advice and, if necessary, mediate with your landlord.
Our student houses provide a comfortable and safe environment that's specifically geared to the demands of the modern student. They invariably enjoy a central location and are in close proximity to our campus. Our student rooms meet all requisite quality standards and are equipped with the latest fire protection. In this way, we alleviate your concerns and leave you free to focus on two things: studying and fully enjoying life as a student here in Belgium.
Kortrijk, city of golden spurs
It is important that, as part of your application, you notify us immediately whether you want us to provide you with accommodation or whether you want to look for your own accommodation. Please note that we can only offer limited accommodations and that it is wise to apply for this as early as possible.
Privately owned student rooms
A wide and varied range of student rooms in all sizes and price ranges can be found on the private market. It is possible to look for 'kot te huur' signs in your student city, but it is more efficient and also safer to take a look on the website www.kotwest.be. The rooms on that site are guaranteed to be in accordance with the regulations. You will get a useful overview of what is on offer in your city, with all the relevant details (address, price, facilities, etc.) and the possibility of contacting the landlord. Note: when you rent a room from someone, it is very important that all the paperwork is in order! To help you sleep soundly, Stuvo provides a rental agreement that you can download from the 'tips' section of the website www.kotwest.be. In this way, you can be sure that all the necessary agreements are correctly set out.
Information and mediation
In spite of all the precautions, you may still be faced with unpleasant surprises after you have settled into your room. A dispute with the landlord: it is certainly not inevitable, but it can happen. In such cases (and by extension with all your dorm room questions), you can always contact the Stuvo housing officer for free advice and mediation.
